I felt like before, I was just kind of taking anything that might get thrown at me as some kind of job. Now after CAA, I am creating the content to make a living and that feels really good. So I feel better about the work I’m doing, and I also feel more empowered to create that living rather than waiting for it to passively come to me.

Through CAA and in the time since Joy has…

  • Become more direct in her messaging about what her skill set is, what her fees are, and the value of what she brings to the table.

  • Upleveled all her website copy which has positively impacted her client outreach.

  • Moved from being passive and laid back with her marketing hoping people will find her to being proactive in her outreach while preserving her calming brand voice and personality.

  • Shifted her energy and focus to new classes and programs that make her happy and more profitable.

  • Raised her fees even when it felt uncomfortable.

  • Downsized her portfolio of offers and resources to only the ones she is most excited about.

  • Created a gentle, supportive pathway for people new to her work to experience what she has to offer and quickly grow their trust in her expertise.

How are things different now? How does it feel now in your business?

I have a lot more clarity. That was one of the first things that really came up in the first month of CAA with Lisa, was the clarity that I got around why I'm doing what I'm doing, what exactly I am doing, what the benefits of that are to the people that are receiving my services.

Another big thing: I recognize who are my priorities, who is it that I want to be working with, what do I want to be doing with them? I felt like before, I was just kind of taking anything that might get thrown at me as some kind of job. After CAA I am creating the content to make a living, as opposed to just taking whatever might come my way. And that feels really good. So I feel better about the work I'm doing. I also feel more empowered to create a living rather than waiting for it to passively come to me.

What made you decide to come into CAA? Like, what was it about the program that was a yes for you?

You were a big yes for me Lisa. I just really trusted the information you shared with me, the suggestions you have shared with me, everything that you've shared with me has been really helpful. And, ultimately, what I realized is, if I didn't commit to myself, in a bigger way, and to my work, I wasn't going to keep doing this work. It isn’t going to be sustainable for me to make a living until I made a bigger commitment. And then I wouldn't be doing anything that I enjoy.

What would you say to someone who's considering doing a program like CAA?

If you're considering it, then I say great. Because it means that you are valuing yourself and wanting to expand in some fashion. The money that I spent on CAA was so amazingly worth it. I got so much more than I sort of expected and it was well worth the money. I think the other piece if you're considering it is that you’re honoring yourself, your worth, and the worth of your business.

It does require commitment, it's financial, it's monetary, but then there's the accountability piece where I was committing to myself every week. I was showing up and doing the work. One last thing I'd say is if you have any questions, then you can trust Lisa to be honest with you about whether the programs are a good fit for you at this time. I know that was what happened for me and it. She and I talking about it was really helpful for me to decide, that “yes this is the time for me to come in.”

In just a few weeks, I’ve gained so much from the CAA program! While I’m doing the hard work (which is important! and I’d never do it on my own), I’m also getting new creative ideas. The connections are flowing. And on top of that, you’re sending me little care packages in the mail. You’re awesome, Lisa! Just wanted you to know how much I appreciate you. CAA is exactly where I need to be right now.
