Thanks to CAA, I now have a better understanding of my ideal clients. More importantly, I’ve developed a process to meet them where they are and explore new markets.

Personal Growth

So you might not have realized it, but I feel I've gone a long, long, long way. Being a very technical person and just creating stuff, I've always been lucky enough that all of my clients found me without me having to do any work to get them. I’ve come to realize that referrals they're great, but they're my worst enemy because I'm not in control of the pipeline at all. I'm not in control of anything and if I don't get referrals then I'm dead in the water on the consulting gig. That hasn't happened yet, but that's what's hurting right now. I'm not getting clients because I've reached out the limit of those referrals at this point.

I fell in love with writing and discovering the client, which has been hard at times. It's not just about producing technology. It's understanding the motivation of my client and feeling comfy. I was in one of the social worker groups, and I was feeling comfy and solid to ask questions and participate with the intention of getting information to build something else, to build that pilot project that I was talking about on Mighty Networks. That's a massive win, just to get that kind of confidence, where these are my people, even though they're not my people.

I now have a few months of work ahead of me because of the class, and I know exactly where I'm going. That's massive.

Group Support/Feedback

I like how we are introduced to fairly complex notions of market research, that's knowledge that will last a lifetime.

I also love how much the cohort helps with their insight and comments and the incredible feedback from Lisa!

Business Wins

I have a much clearer knowledge and a long list of content to support my business. My site has evolved tremendously, I rediscovered and reframed content I had created early on.

Clarity of Brand/Messaging

I've looked at my home page to what it was a year ago, and what it looks like right now. I know where it needs to go. It's not the same business, but it's certainly the business of my goals and I am proud to show this website. And it's getting there. Figuring out and hearing Lisa in one of the trainings is like great repairs, because everybody got it right away. And so it's not there yet. Balancing between improving the product and improving the communication both feed each other. That's a very interesting dynamic.

Thanks to Lisa's magical touch, every aspect of CAA was enjoyable. I really loved the crash course in market research and marketing, especially when paired with the easy-to-approach writing exercises we worked through each week.

A colleague of mine was telling me yesterday, “your CAA classes are really paying off. I see it in your writing.” That made me very happy! 🎉
